Adult Rowing
Rowing is one of the best full body sports while also being low impact which is why it is a great option for adults! A rowing workout is cardio and strength training all in one. But the best part of rowing is working as part of a team. There is nothing like working with your crew to move your boat across the water and maybe across a finish line. We hope you'll join our Masters (adult) rowing crew!
Rowing options
Free Experience Rowing- with no prior rowing experience, during this 1-hour experience participants will learn boathouse safety, how to row on a rowing machine (erg), parts of the boat, and basic water rowing skills. After successfully completing this class, participants will be able to move on to other rowing classes. This is the entry point for all who are new to water rowing. Look for Experience Rowing Open Houses on the Events tab
Learn to Row Sessions - building on the skills started in Experience Rowing, participants will develop their comfort level and skills with on water rowing. This will include longer distance rowing and moving from sweep rowing to sculling and different sized boats to find what works for them. This level of rowing could begin to prepare participants to be more competitive or could just allow individuals to feel comfortable on the water and be part of a team.
Competitive Coached Rowing - working as a team with a coach, participants here will be training to participate in a variety of regional and national regattas. This class will require consistent participation and engagement. Individuals will learn race strategy while also working on technique to improve chances of winning during competitions.
